MIDJOURNEY: NEW IMAGE EDITOR
External Image Editor
The new image image editor in midjourney lets you upload images from your computer and then expand, crop, repaint, add, or modify things in the scene.
Who’s Getting Access?
MidJourney is granting early access to these features for the following users:
- Those who have generated at least 10,000 images: This is for the power users who have been highly active in creating content.
- Yearly members: If you have a yearly membership, you’re also included in this group.
- Monthly subscribers for the past 12 months: Long-term commitment pays off! Those who have maintained their monthly subscription for the past year are now eligible as well. (MidJourney tried to implement a more granular approach, but due to database limitations, this was the most feasible solution.
Things to Keep in Mind:
There are a few quirks that MidJourney users might notice with these new features:
- Out-of-context requests: If you ask for something that doesn’t fit well in the scene or try to change a very tiny detail, the results might not turn out the way you expect.
- Size issues with outpainting: If you place a small object, like a tiny head, and ask MidJourney to complete the rest of the body, it might make the body too big. To fix this, try making the head bigger first, so the proportions work better.
MidJourney is always improving, so as you explore these new features, just keep these quirks in mind and have fun experimenting!
Midjourney Retexture feature
To use it, follow these steps:
- On the left side menu, click on Edit.
- At the top, you’ll see the Retexture option—click on it.
- On the right side, click on New, where you’ll have two options: either enter an image URL or upload an image.
- After uploading the image, enter the prompt that describes the retexture you want at the top.
- Finally, click Submit Retexture.
It may take a few moments, and you’ll receive four retextured image options to choose from!
