How to Use ‘Vary Region’ and ‘Cref Parameter’ in Midjourney

In the above three images, if you notice, all three ladies wearing pullovers of the same design, against the same background, and wearing spectacles of the same color. I have created these using the ‘cref parameter’ and ‘vary region’ parameter of MJ.

Let me explain the workflow to you:

Step-1

Prompt-Create an image of a 30 year old women wearing red pullover. This is the base image.

I want the same pullover design, the same background, and the same color frame in my other two images

Step-2

Prompt-Create an image of a 10 year old girl wearing red pullover.

In this, if you see, the design of the pullover is different.

So now, we will use ‘Vary Region’ and ‘Cref’ to achieve the desired result.

Step-3

Pay attention here: This is our base image, and we want the next two images to have the same background and the same color and design for the pullover.

Click the ‘Vary Region’ option of the base image. U will get same window as image 1 on left side.

In image no. 2:

First select the face and

2. Add Prompt ;Create an image of a 10 year old girl wearing Red pullover –cref (Image link) — CW 100.

And press enter

Image link is the link of the small girl which we generated before. Scroll up to see the same.

This is the grid I obtained after the last step, and as you can see, the background, pullover design, and eyeglass frames are the same. You can upscale the required image.

Same process for the third image.

How to Use ‘Vary Region” for age progression in Midjourney

First, I gave a prompt to ChatGPT

Imagine you want to create images of five generations, showing someone at ages 6, 16, 32, 45, 60, and 75. The idea is to keep their outfit and background the same in each image, with only their facial features changing as they age. Can you write a simple prompt for each age?

As u know, Midjourney will give you 4 images, and you have to upscale one. This is the one I selected.

2nd step: After upscaling the image, click on Vary (strong), You get a window in which the heading is the Remix prompt, where you have to enter the next prompt of age 16 and submit.
