In the above images, I utilized the ‘vary region’ parameter in Midjourney. I began by generating a base image. After that, I upscaled the image, targeted the lip area, entered the necessary prompt for the lip modifications, and clicked submit to generate the image.
The workflow is shared below
- Generate an image
2. Upscale the image and click on “vary region’
This is the base image .
Prompt( fashion portrait, front view, looking at the camera, image of an Asian women, wearing red lipstick.)
When you upscale the image, you will see several options below; please click on ‘vary region’.
This window appears after you click on ‘vary region.’
In the lower left of the editor, you have rectangular selection and freehand tool. The undo tool is located in the upper left of the editor.
3. Select areas to regenerate and submit your job.
I used the ‘rectangular selection tool’ and entered ‘Pink Lipstick‘ as the prompt. Next, click the side arrow button to proceed. Please note that processing may take some time.
Note: After making a selection, you can’t change it. If you need to fix something, use the undo button at the top right. Press it as many times as you need to go back
5. View your result
Here are four images as a result. There are three shades of pink and one shade of purple.
If you’re not happy with these shades, you can regenerate new ones using the same process.
I regenerated second time. When I did that, the colors changed. The first grid had three shades of pink and one purple. The second grid has two shades of purple and two shades of pink. This shows one way to try out the ‘vary region’ feature in MJ.
