CW/CHARACTER WEIGHT PARAMETER IN MIDJOURNEY
Midjourney has introduced a new parameter known as CREF(CHARACTER REFERENCE).
CW( Character Weight) is used when we use CREF parameter.
You can provide Reference image to Midjourney, which helps to create new images of the same character in various scenarios. For this purpose, CREF parameter is used.
Let me explain with an example,
This is the reference image I have created in Midjourney.
Prompt: create an image of a 30 year old women wearing yellow pullover , red spectacles, background cafe –v 6.0 –style raw
If you look at the two images below, you’ll notice that in Image No. 1, I have used CW–25, and in Image No. 2, I have used CW–0.
CW–0 focuses more on the characters, so the clothing and hair are almost exactly as described in the prompt.
As you increase the value, like CW–25, it emphasizes the character’s face, hair, and clothing more.
CW–100 is the default setting.

Image no.2
As you can see in the images below, I have maintained consistency in the character’s appearance using the Midjourney by utilizing the cref and cw parameters. For all the images, I have set the cw parameter to 0.
